What Hi Jisoo is like
Hi Jisoo is a new friendship app from Gatepop Inc. that asks what everyday chats with a Korean female friend would be like. You meet five fictional adult AI friends, Jisoo, Eunyoung, Hyein, Seoha and Hayoon, each with her own way of joking, comforting and disagreeing, and choose a polite or casual speaking style for each. You pick what they call you, and you can see, edit and delete what each friend remembers, including which memories a reply drew on. Chats are always in Korean, with an easy Korean option, while the app menus come in Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese. The screenshots here are from its App Store listing.
It launched on the App Store on October 8, 2026 and is also on Google Play. Gatepop says conversations and memories are stored encrypted on your phone, its servers are designed not to keep conversation text, and backups are manual with no cloud sync. It is too new to have App Store ratings or reviews yet. The listing is rated 18+, and the app says it is for adults 18 and older.
Who it’s for
Hi Jisoo suits adults learning Korean, or who simply like chatting in Korean, and want a casual friend to text about their day rather than a romance.
If you do not read Korean, this is not the app for you. For an English-speaking companion you design yourself, try Duple; for a general AI friend, Replika or Nomi.
