PolyBuzz iPhone app gone from the App Store

PolyBuzz’s iPhone app is no longer on the App Store. Apple’s own app lookup for listing id 6449190344 returns no results, and the App Store page returns Not Found. The Android app on Google Play and the website at polybuzz.ai still work. Neither PolyBuzz nor Apple has publicly said why the iPhone listing is gone.

What happened

PolyBuzz: Chat with Characters (App Store id 6449190344, sold by Cloud Whale Interactive Technology LLC) is no longer listed for download on the US App Store.

What we checked on October 16, 2026. Apple’s iTunes lookup for id 6449190344 with country=us returned resultCount: 0. The public App Store URL for the same id returned Not Found. The same empty lookup result appeared for Australia.
What others reported. CompanionHunt’s change watch reported the listing still live on October 14, 2026 (US, UK, Canada, Australia), then Not Found across those storefronts and several others on October 15 (CompanionHunt).
What has not been explained. We found no public statement from PolyBuzz or Apple naming a reason. From the outside, an Apple removal and a developer withdrawal look the same.

What still works

PolyBuzz has not shut down. Only the iPhone App Store listing is gone.

Android. PolyBuzz remains on Google Play as PolyBuzz: Chat with AI Friends from the same developer (Google Play). The listing carries a Mature 17+ content rating.
Web. polybuzz.ai loads. People who already have an account can keep using it in a browser, including Safari on iPhone.
On iPhone without the native app. Open polybuzz.ai in Safari and sign in. Adding the site to the Home Screen gives it an icon-like shortcut. That is a website, not a restored App Store app.

If you paid through the App Store

A membership bought in the iPhone app is an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel it in iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the app or a PolyBuzz account does not stop Apple billing by itself. Check that screen if you no longer want renewal.

Looking for something else?

If you wanted PolyBuzz mainly for a big character library on iPhone, see our PolyBuzz alternatives guide and our CHAI alternatives comparison. Character.AI is another large library option, though it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on October 12, 2026 and is for sale (our bankruptcy update).

If what you want is a companion you design yourself with long-term memory and generated selfies on iPhone, Duple is one option. It is free to start with Duple Lite; Duple Plus is $6.99 a week, $19.99 a month or $149.99 a year. Duple is iPhone-only and has no live voice chat.

We will update this post if PolyBuzz or Apple publishes a reason, or if the iPhone app returns to the App Store.
